for many, Ouarzazate is considered as a convenient base for exploring the nearby desert with its lush oases and rich Berber culture. it is  located on the southern part of the Atlas Mountains, , bordered on the southern  the city of Marrakesh , and it is 295 km from Rashidiya, The construction of this city dates back to the year 1920 AD  by the French occupation. which established it as as military barracks for its armies.So, in this article Find out more about the stunning places of ouarzazate.

1- Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou



The kasbah Ait Ben Haddou is a group of traditional  buildings made from mud and straw, surrounded by high walls. The houses crowd together within the hight walls, it is listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site as "striking example of the architecture of southern Morocco" and "an extraordinary ensemble of buildings offering a complete panorama of pre-Saharan earthen construction techniques." in addition to this, it is one of the most fame spots of films industry in Morocco, the most prominent movies are  'Lawrence of Arabia', 'Gladiator', 'The Mummy', 'The Last Temptation of Christ', 'Kundun', 'Alexander', 'Kingdom of Heaven', 'Babel', 'Game of Thrones'.

2-Tizi-n'Tichka Pass




Tizi n'Tichka is a mountain pass in Morocco, linking the city of Marrakesh to the city of Ouarzazat through the High Atlas mountains.  and is a gateway to the Sahara desert tourists . Arguably ,one of the most spectacular roads in the country. Almost 200 km , though somewhat dangerous road reaches 2.260  m above sea level, but it is in very good condition, affording a view all the way to Mount Toubkal .

3- Taourirt Kasbah


Taourirt Kasbah is one of Morocco’s most stunning historical legacies ,a quiet Moroccan city how attracted the attention of Unesco.        
The kasbah is full of charismatic turrets, gardens, and rooms with unique geometric patterns and shapes.With almost 300 rooms and a true maze of passageways, steps, and keylock doors, it’s easy to feel lost within this immense structure that only connects to the outside world through a narrow entrance doorway.Built solely of clay and straw, the kasbah has an adobe composition with colors reflecting those of its surrounding Saharan landscape.

4-Atlas Film Studios



Atlas Film Studios established  by Moroccan entrepreneur Mohamed Belghmi in 1983,  is one of  the biggest Film Studio in the world , Atlas Film is located just five miles outside of Ouarzazate on the road to Marrakech. The site is spread over  322,000 square feet of desert.


5-Tifoultoute Kasbah




Tifoultoute Kasbah is an impressive castle  made from mud and straw with stunning views from the tops of its towers, This Kasbah was built in the early 17th century, and was built for the Pacha Glaoui family that once ruled this region. this  kasbah has now been converted into a privately  restaurant , with tables scattered throughout the building , definitly it is a site worth to visit.

6- Cinema Museum



The Cinema Museum is nestled in front of Taourirt Kasbah on the eastern side of Morocco. The museum  displays a works of art that have been included in the manufacture of some historical films made in town. as well as old filming photographic equipment, a large collection of Pharaonic statues made of plaster and wood and a huge hall where filmed the scene of King Solomon.
